Exposure scenario / e-SDS:

SDS MSDS Europe now offers preparation of e-SDS, a safety data sheet with exposure scenario, in English as well as in most European languages.

There are requirements for the preparation of exposure scenarios for dangerous substances produced in or imported into the EU in quantities above 10 tons annually.

Dissemination of information about substances:

Manufacturers and supplies must ensure that substances sold in Europe have an exposure scenario in as an appendix to the SDS. This must be done when the substance is registered with ECHA.

Dissemination of information about mixtures:

There is a requirement that the supplier of a mixture disseminate information from the various exposure scenarios for the components of the mixture. Suppliers of mixtures can disseminate the information in three ways:

The supplier can write the relevant information from the exposure scenarios into the SDS for the mixture and just deliver the SDS to the users.

The supplier can develop an exposure scenario for the mixture and include this as an appendix to the SDS for the mixture.

The supplier can enclose the exposure scenarios for the components as an appendix to the SDS for the mixture.

Note that an SDS also needs to be prepared for an exposure scenario.
